A couple of miles up the highway
Loch Lomond is a small mountain resort community on Highway 175 at about 2,800 feet, a short climb north of Cobb. It once went by the nickname Little Italy, and a state ecological reserve protects the vernal pool beside the highway. Summer cabins and full-time homes share the same wooded hillsides, under pines, firs and big old black oaks.
Those oaks are heavy, spreading trees, and when one fails it tends to lie across a yard, a fence or the only way in. Up here the drive is often narrow and the slope steep, so the crew plans where every piece goes before the first cut.
A job we did here
In October 2024 a Loch Lomond homeowner wrote about the day two oaks came down on their place: “Robert and his crew cut and cleared 2 large black oaks that fell onto our property in Loch Lomond. They were able to finish the job in a day. … Glad we found a local tree service with such high quality.” (Tex L., October 2024)
Being three minutes away matters when a tree is already down. You do not wait for a crew to come up the mountain from the valley; ours lives on it. For anything on the house or blocking the road, see storm and emergency work. The phone is answered any hour.
Getting ready for fire season
During the 2015 Valley Fire, Loch Lomond was under a mandatory evacuation order. Homes here sit right in the forest, so the work that keeps a place safer is steady and practical: lower limbs cut up off the ground, brush cut back from the house, everything chipped, and dead trees taken out before they fall. That is our defensible space work, and the chips can go back on the ground as mulch.
