Lake County’s largest city
Clearlake is the larger of the county’s two incorporated cities, with 16,685 people at the 2020 census, and it takes its name from the lake along its shore. Homes range from lakeside streets to neighborhoods climbing the hills behind them, and empty lots sit between many of them.
Fires that came into town
In the early hours of October 9, 2017, the Sulphur Fire started near Sulphur Bank Road in Clearlake Oaks, crested Mount Baldy and ran into the city. Most of the homes it destroyed were in Clearlake; Lake County News counted 168 structures lost, 136 of them homes. The year before, the Clayton Fire had already forced evacuations here. People in this town know what a cleared yard is worth.
If your lot came through either fire, the trees that survived deserve a look before they drop limbs, and a parcel left to grow back is likely full of brush and dead wood again. Clearing it once, then keeping it mowed and limbed each spring, costs far less than letting it go for years.

City rules
Tree and lot clearing questions inside city limits belong to the City of Clearlake, so ask them before the work starts. If the city has sent you a notice about weeds or brush on a lot, show it to Robert and he will price the work to match what the notice lists.
